Poynter convened some of the leading experts in artificial intelligence, journalism innovation and ethics for a two-day summit at our headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida in June to discuss the key issues facing the industry. As part of the effort, we commissioned original research on the public’s attitudes toward AI and sponsored a hacktahon to create ethically sourced journalism products and applications that can help newsrooms capture the power of AI in responsible and transparent ways.
