Andrea Baer (she/her) is a public services librarian at Rowan University, where she liaises to several academic programs in the humanities and social sciences and promotes information literacy education through teaching and outreach. She has been an academic instruction librarian for over ten years and has offered professional development to fellow instruction librarians and faculty for most of that time. Her pedagogical work is informed in part by previous experience in teaching writing and literature. Andrea holds a master’s in information sciences from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of Washington. Her research interests include critical and digital literacies, inclusive pedagogies, the intersections between information literacy and writing studies, affect and learning, critical reflective practice, and instruction librarians teaching roles and practices.
