Guatemala
Guatevisión’s María Luisa Gómez and professional badminton’s Kevin Cordón lead Guatemalans in a free 10-day WhatsApp course designed by Mediawise. Gómez and Cordón are joining this educational effort as MediaWise Ambassadors.
Learners are guided through daily WhatsApp 5-minute lessons, including message, question, video, and simple, yet practical techniques designed to improve digital engagement and awareness. Participants must respond to the question to guarantee a lesson the next day. By the end of the course, learners will be able to identify and explain different types of misinformation and practice techniques professional fact-checkers use for verification.
Guatevisión, from the Prensa Libre group, partnered with MediaWise to customize and localize the educational content. Guatevisión is a television channel available over-the-air and on cable, airing news and entertainment. Prensa Libre is one of the largest daily newspapers in Guatemala, available via print and digital.
